What We Believe

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Jackson Creek Fellowship Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe that there is one true living God who is revealed to us as the Godhead existing eternally in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and that these three are as one God. We believe that God the Father orders all things according to His own purpose for His own glory. We believe that God the Son is Jesus Christ who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born without sin to redeem man from sin. We believe that God the Holy Spirit is sent from God to convict of sin and righteousness, and to be an indwelling guide, teacher, and source of strength for the believer. We believe that all who receive Christ as Savior are born of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the absolute truth and God’s final authority. We believe both the Old and New Testament is the inerrant, verbally inspired, and infallible Word of God. We accept the Bible as our manual for living. Our first question when faced with a decision is, “What does the Bible say?” We practice Bible reading, Bible study, and Bible memorization. The Bible is the basis for all we believe.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time. Each person after the fall is born with a sin nature, therefore being separated from God and not capable of mending that relationship on their own volition.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

Baptism

Baptism in the New Testament is by immersion under water—Jesus demonstrates this to us through His own baptism. We also are called to this form of baptism because we symbolize and identify with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism a church ordinance, and is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership and to the Lord’s Supper.

The Lord's Supper

We observe the Lord’s Supper as a symbolic act of obedience. Baptized members of the church remember the death of Jesus and anticipate His second coming through sharing in the Lord’s Supper. We partake to remember what Jesus did through His body which was broken and His blood which was poured out on our behalf.

The Church

The church is the assembly of baptized believers called together to worship and live life in community. As the body of Christ, the church, we have diversity in our gifts and unity in our beliefs. We believe that every believer is called to a holy life of service and should belong to a Bible-believing local church for fellowship and for the furtherance of the Gospel to every person at home and around the world.

Priesthood of the Believer

Every believer has direct access to God the Father through Jesus Christ. He is our high priest and the one who is the only mediator that we need. Each person has the ability to communicate and have fellowship with God
